V8SCGlobal.com is delighted to announce a collaboration with Premier Sports to cross promote its website with the sports television channel and build interest in the Australian V8 Supercars Championship.
Located on Sky channel 428, Premier Sports was formed in 2010 with the intention to broadcast sporting events that had been largely ignored by other broadcasters but have a very strong core following.
Now in it’s third year of broadcasting the subscription channel shows more than 1,000 events annually with over 700 of these broadcast live. Earlier this year, it announced it would be showing live or delayed coverage of every round of the V8 Supercars Championship.
Commenting on the project, Operations Director at Premier Sports, Richard Webb said: “From the outset, the channel has been developed by listening to what sports fans want.
“It’s been the home of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in the UK for the last two years bringing viewers unparalleled commercial free non-stop racing, and in doing so, has built up a passionate and loyal following.
“We constantly look at sports rights and earlier this year we struck a deal to show live and delayed coverage of every round of the Australian V8 Supercars Championship.
“We have a superb relationship with NASCAR fans in the UK who have been with us every step of the way as we have developed the business and we want to be able to the same with V8 Supercars fans too.
“Linking up with UK-based fan-site V8SCGlobal.com we can give viewers somewhere to go to find out more about what is now widely regarded as the number one touring car series in the world.”
V8SCGlobal.com editor-in-chief Andy Champness, added: “V8 Supercars is some of the closest, action-packed, edge-of-your-seat and entertaining racing you’ll ever see. The Championship has enjoyed an explosion of popularity across the globe and in providing coverage Premier Sports gives fans over here the opportunity to see just what makes V8 Supercars so special.
“We’re really pleased to have developed this association with Premier Sports. Their belief in giving customers a strong voice on how the channel is run is very refreshing. V8SCGlobal.com has a similar ethic in that it is driven by fans from across the world.”
Sky viewers can watch coverage of V8 Supercars on channel 428, with coverage also available via the Premier Player online on your favourite device.
As well as V8 Supercars and NASCAR, Premier Sports’ content includes the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Speedway, Rugby League from the UK and Australia, NHL Ice Hockey and Blue Square Conference and South American Football.
